|IAC GIRLS SWIMMING: QUAD-WINNERS MILLER, WHEELER LEAD WAVERLY TO WIN OVER NOTRE DAME (7 PHOTOS) (2017-09-12)

WAVERLY — Senior Paige Miller and junior Kennedy Wheeler won four events apiece to lead Waverly to a 98-55 win over Notre Dame here Tuesday afternoon in IAC girls swimming action.
The Lady Wolverines, now 2-0, overcame the efforts of Catherine Craig,who was a triple-winner, and Caroline Rogers, who had two first-place finishes and a second-place finish.
Miller and Wheeler teamed with senior Julianne Lee, and junior Abigail Durgin to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:04.92.
The duo also teamed with senior Sage Burt, and senior Morgan Zwierlein to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:56.20.
Miller won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 178.40, and senior Megan Marrone was second. Miller also won the 100-yard freestyle in a personal-best time of 1:02.18, edging out Lee, who was second at 1:02.33. Zwierlein finished third.
Wheeler led a sweep in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.07. Zwierlein and freshman Mara Caller, who swam a personal-best time of 31.71 seconds, finished 2-3.
Wheeler also won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.42, and freshman Maggie Whitley finished third.
Huddleston and Burt finished 1-2 in the 200-yard freestyle. Huddleston clocked in at 2:20.05, touching out Burt, who finished in a personal-best time of 2:20.06.
In exhibition, Lee, Keefer and Huddleston swept the 100-yard backstroke. Lee clocked in with a winning time of 1:10.85.
Durgin, who swam a personal-best time of 1:19.05, and 8th-grader Delaney Vascoe finished 2-3 in the 100-yard breaststroke, while junior Starr Harford and Durgin, who swam a personal-best time of 6:23.12 — more than 34 seconds better than her previous best time — finished 2-3 in the 500-yard freestyle. Harford also finished third in the 200 IM
Also swimming personal-best times were senior Madison Kittle and freshman Rachel Smith in the 200-yard freestyle, sophomore Luci Burnett in the 50-yard freestyle, Burt and Smith in the 500-yard freestyle, and freshman Alyssa Sindoni in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Craig won the 100-yard breaststroke in a new pool-record time of 1:08.34. She also won the 200-yard IM, and was part of the winning 400-yard freestyle relay.
Rogers won the 500-yard freestyle and was part of the 400 free relay. She finished second to Craig in the 200 IM.
Waverly, now 2-0, returns to action Thursday at Southern Cayuga.
