IAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: CANDOR PULLS AWAY EARLY IN 44-20 WIN OVER TIOGA (2017-12-06)

TIOGA CENTER — Candor raced out to a 12-point first-quarter lead and cruised to a 44-20 win over Tioga here Tuesday evening in IAC South Small School junior varsity boys basketball action.

Alex Doucette knocked down a 3-pointer and scored five points in the first quarter, and Nash Whitmore added four points jumped out to a 14-2 lead. Thomas Cook’s two free throws were Tioga’s only points in the initial stanza.

The junior Indians stretched it lead to 26-4 at the half. Jacob Engle scored Tioga’s only field goal of the first half in the second quarter.

Ethan Agan led Tioga with five points, while Cook, Casey Stoughton, and Jerrick Allen each scored four points.

Whitmore and Doucett led Candor with 10 points apiece, and Bryce Mills added eight points.

Tioga, now 0-2, hosts Watkins Glen Friday night.
