SAYRE  Regular-season champion Athens completed the sweep with a 48-32 win over Sayre in the championship game of the Epiphany Junior High Travel Basketball League here Saturday afternoon.

Athens advanced to the finals with a 50-29 win over Mansfield, while Sayre rolled over Towanda, 66-27.

Mansfield topped Towanda, 41-32, in the consolation game.

Sayre 66, Towanda 27

Sayre jumped out to a 14-point lead at halftime, and blew the game wide open in the second half in a 66-27 win over Towanda.

Brayden Horton netted 10 points in the first half, and Zack Garrity added six points, including a 3-pointer, as Sayre built a 30-16 lead at the intermission.

Dylan Watkins scored 11 points in the second half, while Donovan Wynn and Lucas Horton added six points apiece in a 36-11 blitz.

Brayden Horton led Sayre with 14 points, while Watkins scored 13, Lucas Horton had 10 points, Garrity had nine, Dom Fabbri and Wyn added six points apiece, and David Northrup and Jackson Hubbard chipped in with four points apiece.

Octavius Chacona led Towanda with 12 points.

Athens 50, Mansfield 29
Athens built a double-digit lead at half, and pulled away in the second half for a 50-29 win over Mansfield.

Shayne Reid scored 10 points in the first half, and Troy Pritchard and J.J. Babcock, who canned a pair of 3-pointers, scored six points apiece to help Athens built a 24-13 lead at the intermission.

Reid scored 10 more points in the second half, including a pair of 3-pointers, and Troy Pritchard added five points as Athens secured a berth in the finals.

Reid led Athens with 20 points, while Pritchard scored 11, Babcock added eight points, and Mason Lister and Brenden Jones chipped in with four points apiece.

Championship Game
Athens 48, Sayre 32

Athens raced out to a 15-point halftime lead and cruised to a 48-32 win over Sayre in the championship game.

Troy Pritchard pumped in 11 points, and Shayne Reid and Mason Lister added six points apiece as Athens built a 25-10 lead at the intermission.

Pritchard added 10 more points in the second half, and Reid added six points to offset seven points by Brayden Horton, and five points apiece by Jackson Hubbard and Dom Fabbri.

Pritchard netted 21 points to lead Athens, while Reid scored 12 points, J.J. Babcock added seven points, and Lister chipped in with six points.

Hubbard led Sayre with nine points, while Brayden Horton and Fabbri added seven points apiece.
