|IAC GIRLS BOWLING: ROBERTSON PACES TIOGA IN 3-1 WIN OVER GROTON (2018-01-09)

WAVERLY — Junior Taylor Robertson led Tioga to a 3-1 win over Groton here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Small School Division girls bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.
Groton won the first game 681-640, thanks in large part to a season-high 234 by Rachael Jursick, but Tioga bounced back to win the second game 762-655, fueled by a career-high 177 by sophomore Mackenzie Macumber.
The Lady Tigers capped off the match with a 823-763 win in the third game, paced by Robertson’s season-high 232.
Tioga also won the total-pinfall point by a tally of 2,225 to 2,099.
Robertson shot a 549 on games of 149, 168, and 232 to pace Tioga, while senior Emily Birney rolled a 423, and Macumber had a 410.
Junior Mackenzie Robinson had a 403 for the Lady Tigers, while sophomore Bailey Elston added a 383, and junior SueAnn Grantham tacked on a 363.
Jursick, who had a 131 average and a high game of 177 entering the match, banged out a 632 series on games of 234, 181, and 217, to lead Groton.
Tioga, now 26-10, returns to action Thursday against O-M at Harbourside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
