AUBURN, N.Y. — Waverly had lost just two points all season, but Union Springs handed them a 3-1 defeat here Monday afternoon in IAC Large School Division girls bowling action at Starlite Lanes.

The Lady Wolverines dropped an 859-719 decision in the first game, but bounced back to win the second game 876-736.

Union Springs finished off the match with an 896-784 win in the third game for a total-pinfall victory of 2,491 to 2,379.

Union Spring’s Keri Jesmer rolled a match-high 638 series on games of 257, 198, and 183, and Makayla Smith had a 493.

Sophomore Mackenzie Plouse led Waverly with a 529 series, while senior Cassy Bowman rolled a 514, and junior Sarah Uhl had a 448.

Senior Chenelle Huddleston shot a 436 for the Wolverines, while 7th-grader Victoria Houseknecht added a 428, and junior Kari VanAllen tacked on a 383.

Waverly, now 55-5, closes out the regular season Tuesday against O-M at Harborside Lanes in Watkins Glen.
