SAYRE — Seniors Abby Thoman, and Kendra Gorsline were each triple-winners to lead Athens to its 10th consecutive NTL Swimming & Diving Championship here Tuesday afternoon in girls swimming action.

The Lady Wildcats tallied 195 points, while Sayre finished second with 119 points, edging third-place Towanda by one point. Wellsboro was fourth with 45 points, while Troy was fifth with 16 points, and North Penn-Mansfield was sixth with 13 points.

Thoman won the 1-meter diving competition with a six-dive score of 195.75 points, while Athens freshman Katie Lynch was third with 122.8 points, and Sayre sophomore Mackenzie Wilkerson was fourth with 121.8 points.

Gorsline won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:10.61. She also won the backstroke at last year’s NTL Championships.

Thoman and Gorsline teamed with senior Selkie Bishop, and freshman Amy Jarvis to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:50.27. The same foursome also won the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:20.0.

Athens sophomore Lauren Nevill won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:10.42, while sophomore Sierra Ardrey was third at 1:17.08, and Athens sophomore Christian Bard was fourth in 1:17.35.

The Lady Redskins registered just one win on the day as

juniors Emily Lattimer, Kayla Kittle, and Jennifer Shaffer teamed with sophomore Jillian Shay to win the 200-yard IM relay in a time of 2:11.56.

Jarvis finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:13.77, while Shay was third in 2:15.6, and Gorsline was fourth in 2:21.84.

Jarvis also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:00.07, while Shay was third in 6:00.94, and Sayre sophomore Kayla Hughey was fourth in 6:56.55.

Kittle finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 56.22 seconds, and Bishop was third in 1:01.04.

Kittle also finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 26.17 seconds, and Bishop was fourth in 28.39 seconds.

Athens freshman Allyson Rockwell finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:24.63, and Athens freshman McKenna Galvin was fourth in 1:39.25.

Nevill finished third in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:42.72, and Ardrey was fourth in 2:47.78.

Athens and Sayre will return to action at the District 4 Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1.
