WYALUSING  The Athens 5th- & 6th-grade boys travel basketball team finished third in the season-ending Wyalusing Tournament here Saturday.

Athens went 2-1 in pool play, losing to eventual champion Troy, before bearing NEB in the consolation game.

Pool Play
Troy 26, Athens 23

Troy led 14-12 at the half, and prevailed 26-23 in a defensive struggle.

Evan Sickler led Athens with 12 points, while Conner Mosher added five points, and Korey Miller chipped in with four points.

Athens 41, Wyalusing 20
Athens led 25-16 at the half, and pulled away for a 41-20 win over Wyalusing.

Korey Miller scored 12 points, and Conner Mosher added 11 points to lead Athens, while Evan Sickler added five points, and Jase Babcock chipped in with five points.

Athens 36, Elk Lake 7
Athens raced out to a 20-4 halftime lead en route to a 36-7 win over Elk Lake to finish pool play at 2-1.

Nicholas Jacob led Athens with 10 points, while Evan Sickler scored nine points, Korey Miller added eight points, and Conner Mosher chipped in with four points.

Consolation Game
Athens 39, NEB 16

Athens bolted out to a 24-10 halftime lead, and cruised to a 39-16 win over NEB.

Evan Sickler pumped in 22 points to lead Athens, and Korey Miller added seven.
