WAVERLY ó Tomís Hardware / S&J General Contractors Giants scored six runs in the top of the fourth inning to break open a tie game en route to a 19-4 win over the PS Bank / C&N Bank Cubs here Friday evening in Waverly Little League Majors Division baseball action.
The Giants scored twice in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead, and the Cubs scored twice in the bottom of the third inning to tie the game at 3-3.
The Giants scored six runs in the top of the fourth, six more in the fifth, and four runs in the sixth to extend its lead to 19-3.
Jay Pipher had two hits, including an inside-the-park home run, and scored four runs, and Aiden Dougherty doubled and singled, and scored three runs to pace the Giants at the plate, while Kadyn Whitney and Luke Wiles each singled twice and scored one run.
Trenton Sindoni singled and scored two runs in the win, while Brian Hicks singled and scored a run, Ralph Johnson scored three times, and Nate Kellogg and Carter Davies each scored a pair of runs.
Dougherty started for the Giants, and allowed three runs in four innings, while striking out four. Whitney allowed on run in two innings of relief, and struck out two.
Jake VanHouten doubled and scored a run to lead the Cubs at the plate, while Tyler Chapman scored a pair of runs, and Aiden Kinney scored a run.
