ATHENS — I-R FCU built a 9-1 lead after 1 1/2 innings en route to an 18-13 win over Bishop’s Hardware in a slugfest here Sunday afternoon in Athens Little League Minors Division baseball action.

Bishop’s Hardware trimmed the deficit to 9-6 after two inning, but I-R FCU stretched its lead back to 18-8 after four innings.

Gordon Weaver was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and three RBI, and Cooper Robinson was 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and one RBI to pace I-R FCU’s 12-hit attack, while Charan Venkataswamy singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in three runs, and Cylus Lantz singled twice, scored one run, and knocked in one run.

Joseph Dickerson singled and drove in two runs in the win, while Aldyn Pollock-Sinsabaugh singled and had two RBI, Karson Sipley scored three runs, and Ryan Driesbaugh, Braden Quinn, Gavin Lambert, and Riley Harrigan each scored one run.

Brendan Clark singled twice, scored one run, and had three RBI, and Parker Wanck singled, scored two runs, and had two RBI to pace Bishop at the plate, while Connor Davidson singled, scored one run, and drove in one run, Jackson Clark scored two runs and drove in one run, and Shea Davidson scored one run and drove in two runs.

Graham Steinfelt,  Jake Shores, Xander Shoemaker, and Patrick Umber each scored a run and drove in a run for Bishop’s Hardware, and Abram Steinfelt scored a run.
