ATHENS — Waverly scored five runs in each of its three turns at-bat in a 15-0 four-inning win over Tioga-Lawrenceville in its first game of pool play here Sunday morning in the Gilbert-Brown Memorial 8U Baseball Tournament.

Collin Wheeler tossed a no-hitter for Waverly, striking out 11, walking one and hitting one batter in four innings on the mound.

Jack Pipher belted an RBI triple in the bottom of the first inning to give Waverly a 1-0 lead, and Axel Murray capped the scoring with a home run.

Pipher homered in the second inning to help Waverly to a 10-0 lead, and Hayden Roskow and Cooper Hugo each had run-scoring hits in the third inning.

Pipher homered and tripled, and scored one run to pace Waverly at the plate, while Roskow and Hugo each singled and scored two runs, and Brayden Bowman singled and scored a run.

Murray homered and scored one run in the win, while Wheeler and Griffen Walter each scored a pair of runs, and Rhylee Stotler, Brody Lambert, Caden Vanderhoof, and Blake Draper each scored one run.

Waverly returns to action Tuesday against Athens at 5 p.m.
