ATHENS — The Athens youth football teams made a clean sweep of Waverly here Sunday in Northern Tier Youth Football League action, and all three did so without allowing a point.

“C” Game
Athens 12, Waverly 0

Johnny Butler and Tyler Pelchy scored TDs to lead Athens to a 12-0 win over Waverly in “C” Division action.

Butler scored a five-yard TD run in the second quarter for the Wildcats’ first score, then Pelchy added a 55-yard TD run in the fourth quarter.

Shea Davidson and Thomas Dickson led the Athens defense.

Brayden Bowman and Brody Lambert were the top rushers for Waverly  .

“B  Game”
Athens 27, Waverly 0

Eli Hicks scored three first-half TDs to help Athens to a 21-0 halftime lead en route to a 27-0 win over Waverly in “B” division action.

Hicks scored on runs of 5, 3 and 10 yards, and Nathan Feathers added all three PATs.

Connor Davison returned the second-half kickoff 55 yards for a TD to close out the scoring.

David MaCumber was the leading ball carrier for Waverly, and Austin Burns led the defense.

“A” Game
Athens 24, Waverly 0

Three different Athens runners scored TDs to lead Athens to a 24-0 win over Waverly in “A” Division action.

Dalton Davis opened the scoring with a 3-yard TD run in the first quarter, then Kolsen Keathley scored on a 20-yard TD run.

Matthias Welles added two TDs on runs of 2 and 3 yards to close out the scoring.

Ben Shaw completed 8 of 10 on pass attempts for Waverly, and Dylon Baggerly had seven receptions.
