NEWARK VALLEY — Waverly’s modified runners swept the team titles at the IAC South Division Championship here Tuesday. The girls, led by Michaela Clymer’s individual victory scored 25 points to runner-up Newark Valley’s 44.

Clymer crossed the finish line with a time of 10:28.6 defeating NV’s Sarah Raymond by just under six seconds.

Three of the Wolverines’ other four scoring runners placed in the top 10. Elizabeth Vaughn finished third in 10:45.7, Abigail Knolles was seventh with a time of 11:43, and Allison Barrett took 10th in 12:02.8.

Rounding out the team scoring was Ashlen Croft in 13th, clocking 12:46.7.

Tioga had an incomplete team with Patience Card finishing fourth (10:50.5) and Sarah Burrowes placing 16th (13:43.1).

The Wolverines pushed three runners across the finish line in the top 10 to outscore SVEC, 33-45.

Jerrell Sackett led Waverly with a runner-up showing, his 9:36.3 trailing only SVEC’s Jonathan Garrison (9:07.6). Liam Wright placed seventh in 10:07.6 and Jake Van Houten took eight with a 10:20.1.

Contributing to the team score were Ryan Bostwick in 11th (10:26.2) and Hayden Larson in 14th (10:55.5).

Tioga had one runner, Gavin Carter, who placed 13th with a 10:52.8.
