MORRISVILLE — Morrisville State jumped out to a 21-3 second-quarter lead, and never led by less than 11 after that in a 41-24 win over Utica College here Saturday in a battle of Empire 8 foes that featured Tioga grad Zach Hutchinson and Waverly grad Peyton Miller.

The 6-1, 305-pound Hutchinson anchored an offensive line that helped the Mustangs to 445 yards in total offense, including 195 yards on the ground.

Miller hauled in 11 receptions for 127 yards. It was the second-best totals of his career, trailing only a 13-catch, 141-yard, three-TD performance against Catholic University earlier this season. He has caught at least 10 passes in three of the Pioneers’ six games this season.

Both teams are now 3-3 on the season.

Morrisville State returns to action Saturday at St. John Fisher, while Utica College hosts Alfred University.
