WAVERLY Waverly won all 12 events, led by quad-winners Mike Atanasoff, Collin Keefer, and Kaden Wheeler, in a 124-58 season-opening win over Watkins Glen here Thursday evening in IAC boys swimming action.
Ryan Bennett and Trenton Wright were triple-winners for the Wolverines, and Dillon Madigan and Max VanDyke each notched their first varsity wins.
Atanasoff won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.06 seconds, and Bennett was third in 25.32 seconds. Atanasoff also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 51.09 seconds and Wright was second in 1:01.35.
Atanasoff and Keefer teamed with Bennett and Wright to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:45.19. The same duo teamed with VanDyke and Wheeler to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:49.61.
Keefer won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:08.3, and VanDyke was second in 2:09.75. Keefer also won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:47.05, and Oscar Williams was second in 6:44.98.
Wheeler led a sweep in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.07, with Jarell Sackett was second in 1:20.81, and Gage Streeter was third in 1:31.29. Wheeler also won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:17.63.
Wheeler teamed with Wright, Bennett, and Madigan to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:02.22.
Bennett won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:07.43, and VanDyke was second in 1:09.17, and Wright won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:15.48.
Streeter won the 1-meter diving competition with 210.5 points.
Waverly returns to action Dec. 7 when it hosts Sayre.
