THE VALLEY - The 2019 portion of the school year kicks into gear this afternoon, but the only event on the docket has the Tioga bowling teams on the road against Union Springs / Port Byron.

BOYS BOWLING
Tioga (30-2) at U.S. / P.B. (25-11), 4 p.m. @ Aurora Lanes, Auburn:
In a battle of division leaders, the Tigers average 933 pins per game, while the Wolves average 875 pins per game.

Tioga, which leads the Small School by 5 games over Groton, has three of the top 12 bowlers in the IAC. Sophomore Kolton Pond ranks second with a 204.5 average, while senior Jason Sherman is eighth at 193.5, and 8th-grader Dylan Slater is 12th at 181.2.

Union Springs, which leads the Large School by 1 game over Waverly and Watkins Glen, has one in the top 12 in Mitchell Hamel, who is fifth at 203.3.

GIRLS BOWLING
Tioga (11-21) at U.S. / P.B. (35.5-0.5), 4 p.m. @ Aurora Lanes, Auburn:
The Lady Wolves lead Waverly by 4 games in the Large School standings, while the Lady Tigers are in fourth place in the Small School race - 15 games behind Candor.

Union Springs has four of the top eight bowlers in the IAC, led by Colleen Jump, who ranks second with a 182 average.

Tioga is led by senior Mackenzie Robinson (156 average) and junior Bailey Elston (137).
