YOUTH BASEBALL (12U): STEALIN' HOME WINS NEW YEAR'S BASEBALL BASH IN VICTOR (2019-01-03)

VICTOR, N.Y. - The Stealin' Home 12U travel baseball team went 4-0 Saturday to win the New Year's Baseball Bash here at the Pinnacle Athletic Campus.

Stealin' Home opened with a shutout win over the Montreal-based Axion Expos, then beat Pal-Mac twice, before finishing off the Rochester-based Bright Barons in the finals.

Stealin' Home 14, Axion Expos 0

Ken Mapes slammed a pair of home runs, and Nick Grazul and Hunter House combined on a one-hitter to lead Stealin' Home to a 14-0 win over the Axion Expos.

Mapes, who also doubled, scored three runs and had four RBI to lead SH's 14-hit attack, while Camden Allen doubled and singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs, Troy Rosenbloom stroked a pair of singles, scored two runs, and knocked in a run, and Dawson Sherman singled twice, scored once, and drove in a run.

House homered, scored two runs, and drove in a run in the win, while Grazul singled, scored two runs, and drove in a run, Shea Bailey singled, scored one run, and drove in a run, Matt Driesbaugh and Kaiden Hyjek each singled and scored a run, and Conner Mosher drove in a run.

Grazul earned the win with six strikeouts in two innings of one-hit ball. House retired the side in order with one strikeout in one inning of work.

Stealin' Home 8, Pal-Mac 3
Stealin' Home led 8-0 after 2 1/2 innings en route to an 8-3 four-inning win over Pal-Mac.

Grazul singled to lead off the game and scored on a groundout off the bat of Mapes for the second out. A walk to Heath re-ignited the rally as Rosenbloom followed with a line-drive RBI double to make it 2-0. Rosenbloom scored on an RBI single by Driesbaugh, who then scored an RBI double by Allen to make it 4-0.

House keyed a three-run second-inning rally with a two-run single to make it 7-0, and Noah Hobday's RBI double in the third inning gave SH an 8-0 lead.

Mapes earned the win with two innings of no-hit ball, striking out four and walking one. Bailey relieved and allowed three unearned runs without the benefit of a hit. He struck out four and walked three.

Grazul singled twice and scored two runs, and Driesbaugh singled twice, scored two runs and drove in a run to pace SH's eight-hit attack.

Rosenbloom doubled, scored one run, and drove in a run in the win, while Allen and Hobday each doubled and knocked in one run, and House singled, scored a run, and drove in two runs.

Stealin' Home 17, Pal-Mac 0
Hunter House tossed a three-inning no-hitter, and Stealin' Home banged out 15 hits in a 17-0 win over Pal-Mac.

House stuck out four and walked one in the win.

Allen homered and singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI, and Mapes homered, scored one run, and had three RBI to lead the SH offense, while Bailey singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, Grazul had two hits, scored two runs, and drove in a run, and Sherman had two hits, scored twice, and knocked in a run.

Driesbaugh singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI in the win, while Hobday singled, scored one, and knocked in one run, and Hyjek singled and scored one run, Conner Mosher added a single, and Rosenbloom scored two runs and drove in a run.

Stealin' Home 5, Brighton Barons 3

Stealin' Home scored two runs in the top of the third and two more in the fourth to rally for a 5-3 win over the Brighton Barons to cap off the day.

Brighton scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 2-1 lead, but SH bounced back in the top of the third inning with RBI singles by Bailey and Mapes to take a 3-2 lead.

Driesbaugh's RBI single to score Rosenbloom, who led off the top of the fourth inning with a single, gave SH a 4-2 lead. Driesbaugh later scored on a two-out passed ball.

Mapes earned the win for SH, allowing two unearned runs on one hit, while striking out four and walking three in three innings of work. Grazul earned the save, striking out the side while allowing one run on two hits in the fourth inning.
