IAC JV GIRLS BASKETBALL: ITHACA CRUISES TO 45-29 WIN OVER WAVERLY (2019-02-11)
Valley Sports Report ITHACA - Ithaca ran out a big early lead and cruised to a 45-29 lead over Waverly here Friday evening in non-league junior varsity girls basketball action.
Ithaca held Waverly to two free throws in the first quarter en route to a 13-2 lead, then scored the first nine points of the second quarter to extend its lead to 22-2. The Lady Little Red stretched its lead to 28-6 at the half.
Olivia Nittinger scored seven points in the third quarter, and Peyton Shaw added four points, but the closest Waverly got was 14 points, at 31-17, with 2:27 remaining in the third quarter.
Nittinger led Waverly with 11 points, while Shaw scored seven, and Lourden Benjamin added six points.
Waverly returns to action Tuesday at Johnson City.
