NTL BOYS SWIMMING: ATHENS WINS TEAM TITLE AT LEAGUE MEET (10 PHOTOS) (2019-02-13)

SAYRE - Freshman Kaden Gorsline was a triple-winner, and senior Trent Neville, sophomores Mason Henderson, Zac Gowin and Joe Toscano, and freshman Reuven Gifeisman were double-winners to lead Athens to the team title here Wednesday afternoon at the NTL swimming & diving championships.

Gorsline won the 1-meter diving completion with 185.5 points, while Sayre senior Joe Stermer was third with 171 points, and Athens freshman Kyle Anthony was fourth with 158.2 points.

Gorsline, teamed with Henderson, Neville, and Toscano to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:03.76.

Gorsline, Gowin, Gifeisman, and Toscano teamed to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:26.9.

Henderson won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 58.01 seconds, while Gifeisman was third in 1:03.55, Gorsline was fourth in 1:04.34, Toscano was fifth in 1:05.55, and Sayre freshman Ryan Maxim was eighth in 1:21.51.

Neville won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:02.39, and Beers was second in 1:11.14, while Gowin won the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:09.55.

Sayre senior Matt Beers won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:13.48, edging out Gowin, who was second in 2:13.66, by just 0.18 seconds.

Stermer won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:14.18, while Henderson was second in 1:20.55, and Athens sophomore Carter Jones was fourth in 1:23.65.

The Athens foursome of Anthony, Gorsline, Neville, and Henderson finished second in the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:46.61.

Neville finished third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 25.35 seconds, while Anthony was sixth in 27.88 seconds, and Athens senior Robert Kisner was seventh in 28.14 seconds.

Toscano finished third in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:17.98.
