YOUTH BASKETBALL: ATHENS EARNS PAIR OF WINS TO FINISH OWEGO LEAGUE WITH 10-1 RECORD (2019-03-26)

OWEGO - The Athens 7th- & 8th-grade boys travel basketball team earned a pair of wins  to close out the Owego League season with a 10-1 record here Sunday at the Boys & Girls Club.

Athens 55, Horseheads 52
In its first game of the day, Athens rallied from a 17-point deficit to record a 55-52 win over Horseheads.

Carson Smith led Athens with 18 points, four steals, and three rebounds, while Connor Mosher had 12 points, Mason Lister had 10 points, six rebounds, and six steals, and Korey Miller added nine points and three rebounds.

Lucas Kraft had three points, two rebounds, and two steals in the win, and Nicholas Jacob chipped in with three points and two steals.

Athens 47, Newark Valley 39
Mason Lister led Athens to a season-closing 47-39 win over Newark Valley.

Lister pumped in 16 points and hauled down eight rebounds, while Connor Mosher scored 15 points, Carson Smith added eight points and seven boards, and Korey Miller chipped in with five points.
