WAVERLY "” Waverly erupted for 11 runs in the home half of the firs inning, and three pitchers combined on a one-hitter en route to a 28-0 five-inning win over Whitney Point here Monday afternoon in IAC Division 3 softball action.

The Lady Wolverines' first 12 batters - five via hits, four by walks, and three on errors - of the game reached base. Junior Riley Hall delivered an RBI single and a two-run double in the rally, while senior Sydney Meyers had a two-run single, senior Sabrina Pierce added an RBI single, and junior Morgan Adams capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

Waverly added three runs in the second inning, five more runs in the third inning, and scored nine times in the fourth inning.

Hall doubled and singled, scored one run, and had three RBI, while sophomore Hali Jenner singled twice, scored four runs, and had two RBI, and Meyers singled twice, scored two runs, and drove in two runs to pace Waverly's 12-hit attack.

Senior Wendi Hammond singled, scored five runs, and had two RBI, while Adams singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI, Pierce singled, scored three times, and drove in two runs, and junior Adrianah Clinton doubled, scored two runs, and knocked in one run.

Senior Rebecca Peake singled, scored one run, and drove in two runs for the Lady Wolverines, while senior Kari VanAllen singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and junior Morgan Lee scored two runs and drove in two runs.

Hammond started in the pitcher's circle and earned the win for Waverly, striking out six and walking one in two innings of one-hit ball.

Jenner tossed two innings of hitless relief, striking out five and walking one, and sophomore Alyssa Sindoni walked one in one hitless inning of relief.

Waverly, now 6-1, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Watkins Glen.
