TIOGA CENTER "” Sophomore Kindra Wessels dominated in the pitcher's circle, and sophomore Olivia Ayres and freshman Austyn Vance led Tioga's 14-hit attack in a 9-0 win over Union Springs here Thursday afternoon in IAC Division 2 softball action.

Wessels tossed a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking none in a complete-game win.

Ayres was 4-for-4 with one run scored, two stolen bases, and an RBI, and Vance had three hits, including a double, one run scored, and two RBI for the Lady Tigers, while Wessels doubled twice, scored two runs, and drove in one run, and junior Giovanna Rossi stroked a pair of singles, scored one run, and drove in one run.

Freshman Julia Bellis doubled, scored one run, and had two RBI in the win, while junior Shaina Franks singled, scored one run, and knocked in one run, and junior Allyson Chapman singled and scored two runs.

Bellis ripped a two-run double to put Tioga on the board in the home half of the third inning, and Vance followed with a two-RBI double to make it 4-0.

The Lady Tigers added to their lead in the home half of the fourth inning on RBI singles by Ayres and Rossi to make it 6-0.

Tioga finished off the scoring in the bottom of the fifth inning on RBI singles by Franks and Ayres, and an RBI double by Wessels.

Tioga, now 6-2, returns to action Saturday at the Testa Tournament at Maine-Endwell.
