IAC TRACK & FIELD: EARLEY, JOYCE, ROSSI LEAD TIOGA BOYS TO WINS OVER S-VE, CANDOR; TIOGA GIRLS EARN SPLIT (24 PHOTOS) (2024-04-16)

TIOGA CENTER — Juniors Andrew Earley and Kam Joyce, and senior Valentino Rossi led the Tioga boys to wins over S-VE and Candor here Tuesday afternoon in an IAC South Small School track & field tri-meet, while the Tioga girls, led by 8th-grader Vida Rossi, split a pair of decisions at Haggerty Field.

(NOTE: The meet was scored as a double-dual, but for simplicity sake the results are listed by overall times and distances. Any second-place finisher, actually logged a first-place finisher in one of the duals.)

BOYS
Tioga 76, S-VE 64
Tioga 111, Candor 24

Earley, Rossi, and Joyce were triple-winners, and sophomore Gavin Albrecht was a double-winner for the Tigers, who topped S-VE, 76-64, and Candor, 111-24

Earley won the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 16.3 seconds, while junior Ryan Chamberlain was third in 18.5 seconds, and freshman Elijah Bellis was fourth in 19.5 seconds.

Earley also won the 400-meter hurdles in 1:03.1, while sophomore James Miller was second in 1:06.7, and Chamberlain was third in 1:10.1.

Earley won the long jump with a leap of 17-feet, 6 1/4-inches, while sophomore Brady Landmesser was third at 16-feet, 7-inches, and Albrecht was fourth at 15-feet, 11 1/2-inches.

Rossi won the 100-meter dash in 10.8 seconds, while Albrecht was second in 11.4, and junior Brennan SIndoni was fourth in 11.9 seconds.

Rossi won the high jump at 5-feet, 2-inches, and junior Isaiah Fore was second at 4-feet, 10-inches,

Rossi and Albrecht teamed with juniors Jonah Lamb, and Kam Joyce to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 45.7 seconds.

Joyce won the 200-meter dash in 24.2 seconds, and Lamb was fourth in 25.2 seconds.

Joyce won the discus with a toss of 95-feet, 3-inches, while Miller was third at 85-feet, 1-inch, and senior Josh Benjamin-Doyle was fourth at 77-feet, 11-inches.

Albrecht won the pole vault at 12-feet, 6inches, while Chamberlain was second at 8-feet, and Sindoni was third at 7-feet.

Sophomore Talon Wood was second in the 3,200-meter run in a time of 12:36.6. He was fourth in the 1,500-meter run in 5:38.9.

Earley, Landmesser, Miller, and Fore teamed to finish second in the 1,600-meter relay in a time of 3:57.2.

Lamb was second in the triple jump at 34-feet, 9 1/2-inches, while Landmesser was third at 33-feet, 8 1/2-inches, and Wood was fourth at 31-feet, 6 1/4-inches.

Joyce finished third in the 400-meter run in 57.8 seconds, and Landmesser was fourth in 59.8 seconds.

Junior Austin Babcock finished third in the shot put with a heave of 35-feet, 4-inches, and Lamb was fourth at 33-feet, 5-inches.

GIRLS
S-VE 81, Tioga 55
Tioga 76, Candor 27

Rossi was a triple-winner to lead the Lady Tigers, while sophomores Ava Smolinsky and Emily Zwierlein, and freshman Sadie Marshall were double-winners.

Rossi won the 100-meter dash in a time of 13.1 seconds, while Smolinsky was second at 13.8 seconds, and 7th-grader Grace Howey was third at 14.0 seconds.

Rossi won the 200-meter dash in a time of 27.6 seconds, while Smolinsky was third at 29.3 seconds, and Howey was fourth at 29.8 seconds.

Rossi, Smolinsky, and Howey teamed with Zwierlein to win the 400-meter relay in a time of 54.5 seconds.

Smolinsky won the long jump with a leap of 14-feet, 11 1/2-inches, and Rossi was second at 14-feet, 11-inches.

Zwierlein won the high jump at 4-feet, 4-inches, and senior Emma Jaye was second at 4-feet, 2-inches. Zwierlein finished second in the triple jump at 27-feet, 11 3/4-inches.

Marshall won the 100-meter hurdles in a time of 17.5 seconds, and Zwierlein was fourth in 21.9 seconds. Marshall also won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:18.3.

Senior Allie Creller finished second in the discus with a toss of 71-feet, 10-inches. She placed third in the shot put at 22-feet.

Jaye placed third in the pole vault at 5-feet.

Freshman Kendall Ward placed fourth in the 800-meter run in a time of 3:26.7.
