SECTION IV GIRLS GOLF: WAVERLY GOES 0-4 IN TIGHTLY-CONTESTED FIVE-TEAM MATCH AT WILLOWCREEK (2024-04-18)
Valley Sport ReportBIG FLATS — Waverly came up on the short end of a tightly-contested five-team match here Thursday afternoon in Section IV girls golf action at the Willowcreek Golf Course.
Corning, led by low-medalist Delaney Abel’s 40, posted the low four-player aggregate score of 203, while Lansing shot a 206, SVEC had a 214, Horseheads carded a 217, and Waverly had a 218.
Junior Breanne Robinson, who was fifth in the individual standings on the day, shot a 49 to lead the Wolverines, while sophomore Addison Hunt had a 55, and senior Natalie Lauper, junior Lauryn DeLill,, and sophomore Sophia Sileo each shot rounds of 57.
Junior Maddy Farnham shot a non-scoring round of 61.
Lansing’s Hailey Baughan led Lansing with a 45, SVEC’s Lauren Gillette shot a 46, and Horseheads’ Ava Fairbrother carded a 47.
Waverly returns to action May 1 at Catatonk Golf Course.
