Valley Sports Report
THE VALLEY — A busy Friday afternoon features a full slate of baseball and softball games, with the Athens and Waverly teams playing league rivals at home. The slate also features a Valley rivalry on the links with the Waverly boys hosting Tioga at Shepard Hills.

BASEBALL
Towanda (2-4) at Athens (3-4), 4:30 p.m.:
The Wildcats are coming off a 5-1 loss at home to Northeast Bradford on Monday, while the Black Knights lost at Canton, 11-1, on April 9.

Chenango Forks (5-4) at Waverly (10-0), 5 p.m.: The Wolverines won the first two games of the series this week by scores of 11-5 and 12-6.

Sayre (2-3) at Canton (7-3), 4:30 p.m.:
The Redskins are coming off a 3-2 loss to North Penn-Mansfield Tuesday, while the Warriors edged Troy, 7-3.

Canton won the first meeting of the season, 12-5.

Tioga (4-0) at Groton (0-3), 4:30 p.m.:
The Tigers beat the Indians, 13-2, on Monday.

SOFTBALL
Towanda (3-3) at Athens (2-3), 4:30 p.m.:
The Wildcats are coming off an 11-1 win over NEB on Monday, while the Black Knights lost at Horseheads, 8-1.

Oneonta (4-2) at Waverly (4-2),  5 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a come-from-behind, 7-6, win over Owego Thursday, while the Yellowjackets edged Delhi, 9-8, Wednesday.

Sayre (2-3) at Canton (2-7), 4:30 p.m.: The Redskins are coming off a 10-0 loss to unbeaten North Penn-Liberty, while the Warriors lost 15-2 to Troy.

Sayre won the first meeting of the season, 16-8.

Tioga (3-0) at Groton (1-5), 4:30 p.m.:
The Tigers beat Groton 16-2 and 15-2 earlier this week.

BOYS GOLF
Tioga (3-1) at Waverly (0-2), 3:30 p.m.:
The Tigers are coming off a 2-stroke win (175-177) over Candor, while the Wolverines lost by 16 strokes (184-200) to Dryden.

TRACK & FIELD
Tioga HOSTS Twisted Track Meet, 4:30 p.m
.: Tioga hosts its third annual “Twisted Track Meet,” which features the normal track & field events (plus an 800-meter relay), but the relays consist of two boys and two girls, and each individual events combines the times / distances of a boy and a girl.

Sayre at Lock Haven Invite, 2 p.m.:

Lansing at Waverly (0-5),
4:30 p.m.
