WAVERLY - Senior Mike Atanasoff and freshman Kaden Wheeler won four events apiece, but junior Gage Streeter stole the show by smashing a long-standing school record in the 1-meter diving competition as Waverly ran its dual meet win streak to 25 with a 129-50 victory over Towanda here Thursday afternoon in non-league swimming action.

Senior Trent Wright and sophomore Ryan Bennett were triple-winners, and 7th-grader Liam Wright logged his first varsity win for the Wolverines, who improve to 10-0.

Streeter won the 1-meter diving competition, with a new school-record 273.45 points, crushing the previous record of 252.5 points set by Tony VanTassel in 1995.

Streeter also broke his own pool record of 242.9 set earlier this season on Dec. 14 in a win over Athens.

Atanasoff won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 50.61 seconds, and senior Max VanDyke was third in 1:02.98.

Atanasoff also led a sweep in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 59.83 second, while sophomore Keefer was second in 1:08.55, and Jarell Sackett was third in 1:16.66

Wheeler led a sweep in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:18.57, while Keefer was second in 2:29.08 and 8th-grader Oscar Williams was third in 2:46.47.

Wheeler also led a sweep in the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 59.12 seconds, while VanDyke was second in 1:04.44, and Bennett was third in 1:05.18.

Atanasoff and Wheeler, teamed with Trent Wright, and VanDyke to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:53.12.

Atanasoff and Wheeler also teamed with Bennett and Wright to win the 400-yard freestyle in a time of 4:07.24, and the Waverly foursome of sophomore Dillon Madigan, Williams, Ryan Clark, and Keefer was second in 4:38.16.

Trent Wright and Bennett, teamed with VanDyke and Keefer to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:41.2.

Bennett won the 50-yard freestyle in 24.4 seconds, and Trent Wright was third in 26.21 seconds.

Trent Wright won the breaststroke in a time of 1:13.49, and Max Pan was second in 1:21.56.

Madigan finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:21.71, and Liam Wright was third in 2:29.56.

Liam Wright finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:42.48, and Madigan was third in 6:54.78.

Waverly returns to league action Tuesday when it hosts Dryden.
