VALLEY SPORTS REPORT: 'ALL-VALLEY WEEK,' AND 2018-19 YEAR-END AWARDS (2019-06-21)

THE VALLEY — The 2018-19 high school sports season has come to an end, and over the next nine days Valley Sports Report will put the finishing touches on it with "All-Valley" honors for the 2019 spring season, as well as our year-end awards.

All-Valley Week,” which honors the top athletes, newcomers, and coaches in each sport, as well as "Crystal Ball" prognostications for the 2019-20 spring seasons, begins Thursday and wraps up Tuesday.

Beginning Wednesday, VSR will put a bow on the entire school year with its year-end awards, culminating Friday with "The Final Word on 2018-19.”

THE VALLEY - "All-Valley" week begins today and stretches through Sunday, honoring the top athletes, newcomers, and coaches, as well as "Crystal Ball" prognostications for the 2019-20 winter seasons.

The week wraps up Sunday with "Super 7 Male and Female Athletes of the Winter," and  "The Final Word" on the 2018-19 winter season.

The 2018-19 sports seasons are in the book, and it was a historic year for a couple of teams, and several athletes.

Brothers John Worthing, a senior, and Brady Worthing, a junior, both did something in 2018-19 I would wager very few, if any, athletes in Section IV, or New York State have accomplished. ...more

THE VALLEY — Two of the best three-sport athletes Waverly has produces, seniors Wendi Hammond and Alex Tomasso saw their careers intertwine for five years on the soccer pitch, and basketball hardwoods, but both made their biggest mark in separate sports in the spring.

It’s only fitting that Hammond and Tomasso share the 2018-19 Valley Sports Report Girls “Athlete of the Year” honors.

THE VALLEY — Tioga's John Worthing put together an impressive senior year, winning a state title on the wrestling mats, winning this site's top honors on the gridiron, and starting on a Section IV championship baseball team to earn Valley Sports Report’s 2018-19 Boys “Athlete of the Year.”
