SECTION IV BOYS BOWLING: TIOGA'S POND WINS INDIVIDUAL GOLD - TIGERS FINISH SECOND AT CLASS D CHAMPIONSHIPS (2019-02-08)
Valley Sports ReportVESTAL - Sophomore Kolton Pond won individual gold, and seniors Jason and Sherman finished sixth and seventh, respectively, to lead Tioga to a second-place finish here Friday afternoon at the Section IV, Class D boys bowling championships at Midway Lanes.
Hancock claimed the team gold with 2,912 pins, while Tioga tallied 2,819 pins, and third-place Unadilla Valley totaled 2,632 points. Groton was fourth with 2,515 pins, and Notre Dame placed fifth with 2,412.
Pond rolled a 642 series, including a 246 game that ranked second on the day. Hancock's Tyler Allen was the silver medalist with a 635 series, and Notre Dame's Zach McClelland was third with a 628.
Jason Sherman rolled a 591 series, including the gold medal high game of 258, while Eric Sherman shot a 579, including a 205.
Freshman Dylan Slater finished 18th with a 507 series with a 176 high game, and senior Mason Trollman was 19th with a 500 with a 181 high game.
Tioga returns to action next weekend in the Section IV, State Qualifier.
