TIOGA CENTER "" Sophomore Kindra Wessels tossed a five-inning gem, and junior Giovanna Rossi and freshman Julia Bellis powered the Tioga offense in a 15-0 win over Moravia here Tuesday afternoon in IAC Division 2 softball action.

Wessels fired a one-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking none in five innings to earn the win.

Freshman Julia Bellis stroked a two-run single in the bottom of the first inning to give the Lady Tigers a quick 2-0 lead.

Tioga padded its lead in the second inning with an RBI double by Wessels, and a two-run single by Giovanna Rossi keying a five-run rally that extended the Tioga lead to 7-0.

Tioga put the game away with seven runs in the fourth inning. The key blows in the frame were a two-run single by Bellis and an RBI single by junior Michaela Webb.

Bellis stroked three singles, scored two runs, and drove in three runs, and Rossi singled, scored two runs, and had three RBI to pace Tioga at the plate, while Webb singled three times, scored four runs, stole two bases, and drove in one run, and Olivia Ayres singled three times, stole two bases, and scored two runs.

Wessels singled, scored two runs, and drove in two runs, while junior Allyson Chapman scored two runs, and freshman Austyn Vance scored one run, stole two bases, and knocked in one run.

Tioga, now 9-3, returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Waverly.
