ATHENS LITTLE LEAGUE (MAJORS): C&N BANK FALLS TO WILLIAMS TOYOTA, SNAPPING THREE-GAME WIN STREAK (2019-06-07)

ATHENS - C&N Bank dropped a 7-3 decision to Williams Toyota Thursday night to snap a three-game winning streak, which included a 3-1 win over McDonald's of Sayre Tuesday, in Athens Little League Majors Division baseball action.

Williams Toyota 7, C&N Bank 3
Williams Toyota scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to break a tie game, and two more in the sixth inning to finish off a 7-3 win over C&N Bank on Thursday in Athens Little League action.

Dylan Saxon singled twice and drove in two runs, and Oliver Johnson singled twice and knocked in one run to lead Williams Toyota at the plate, while Braden Reed stroked a pair of singles, and Matthias Welles and Charan Venkataswamy each had one hit, two runs scored, and one RBI.

Welles earned the win, allowing three runs - none earned - on seven hits, while striking out three and walking three.

Troy Rosenbloom and Nick Grazul each had two hits and one run scored, while Eli Chapman singled and scored one run, and Rodney Chapman and Isaac Wilcox each added one hit.

Grazul struck out 10 in 3 2/3 inning on the mound for C&N Bank, and Rosenbloom had four strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.

C&N Bank 3, McDonald's 1
C&N Bank scored two runs in the home half of the fourth inning to take a 3-1 lead, and made it stand up in a win over McDonald's Tuesday night in Athens-Sayre Little League acton.

Collin Dawson closed the game with 2 1/3 inning of one-hit- scoreless relief to earn the win on the mound for C&N Bank. Troy Rosenbloom started and allowed one run on one hit in 1 2/3 innings, while striking out five and walking one, and Eli Chapman scattered three hits in two scoreless innings of relief - striking out two and walking one.

Dawson tripled and scored one run, and Rosenbloom doubled and scored two runs to lead C&N Bank at the plate, while Alex Thompson singled and drove in one run, and James Friend added a single.

Ethan Gorsline singled twice and scored one run for McDonald's, while Ronin Ault, Justin Koenig and Austyn Stedge each added one hit.

Gorsline was tagged with the tough-luck loss, allowing three runs - two earned - on four hits, while striking out nine and walking one in four innings. Hogan Shaw struck out all three batters he faced in an inning of relief.

C&N Bank 5, Firemen 0
Nick Grazul and Troy Rosenbloom combined on a one-hitter to lead C&N Bak to a 5-0 win over the Firemen Saturday afternoon in Athens Little League action.

Grazul earned the win, striking out seven and walking two in 2 2/3 innings of one-hit ball. Rosenbloom struck out three and walked two in 1 1/3 innings of hitless relief.

Eli Chapman had three hits, including two doubles, and scored three runs, and Collin Dawson singled twice and drove in one run to pace C&N Bank at the plate, while Nick Grazul singled and drove in one run, and Rosenbloom added a single.

Ethan Hicks singled for the Firemen's only hit.

Eli Hicks and Ethan Hicks combined for a two-hitter in the loss. Eli allowed two unearned runs on one hit, while striking out three and walking one in 1 1/3 innings, and Ethan allowed just one one hit in 1 2/3 innings, with one strikeout and one walk.

C&N Bank 9, Gannon's Insurance 4
C&N Bank scored five runs in the top of the third inning to blow open a close game en route to a 9-4 win over Gannon's Insurance.

Troy Rosenbloom doubled and singled, scored two runs, and drove in one run to lead C&N Bank at the plate, while Nick Grazul doubled, scored once, and had two RBI, James Friend doubled and drove in one run, and Dalton Hall added a single.

Eli Chapman, Collin Dawson, Alex Thomason and Isaac Wilcox each scored one run in the win.

Elijah Hobday  doubled, scored one run, and drove in one run, and Riley Campbell doubled and drove in one run to account for Gannon's two hits, while Connor Davidson scored one run.
