OWEGO — Nichols-Tioga (Sindoni) wrapped up pool play at the Owego Little League 10U Tournament with a 3-0 record, finishing up with a four-inning, 12-2 victory over Johnson City (Greenberg) Friday evening.
That could leave as many as three teams tied atop Pool C heading into bracket play. U-E (Schrader) joined N-T at 3-0 with a 10-9 win over Owego Gregory. Meanwhile, Candor (Rose) and Chenango Forks (Curtis) pit their 2-0 records against one another this morning.
Every Nichols-Tioga player contributed at least one run to the victory.
The big bat belonged to Talon Relyea, who went 2-for-3 with a pair of inside-the-park home runs. Owen Parker homered as well during a 1-for-2 day. Josh Rought went 1-for-3 with a double, and Jaxon Guiles and Gavin Kithcart added one base hit apiece.
Rought and Relyea were strong on the mound as well. Rought threw the first three innings and Relyea closed things out.
Nichols-Tioga will now await seeding for the bracket portion of the tournament. Bracket play begins Sunday afternoon and runs through July 14.
