Valley Sports ReportTIOGA CENTER "" Maine-Endwell, the defending Class A state champion, had seven different players put their names into the scoring column here Monday afternoon in an 11-0 win over Tioga in non-league Section IV field hockey action.
The Lady Spartans, now 1-2, started fast, with Julianne Zunic scoring 76 seconds into the game, and Anna Cataldo scoring 29 seconds later to make it 2-0.
Cataldo scored again with 17:31 left in the first half to make it 3-0, and capped the scoring before the intermission with 1:39 left to make it 8-0. In between Jenna Zunic, Dani Palmer, Olivia Rando, and Ava Passante put the ball into the cage for the Lady Spartans.
Rando and Jenna Zunic added their second goals of the game in the second half, and Mary Cook also found the goal.
Maine-Endwell had a 24-3 edge in shots-on-goal, and a 15-1 advantage in penalty corners.
Senior Kim Tarbox had 13 saves in the cage for Tioga.
Tioga, now 0-2, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Owego.
