IAC VOLLEYBALL: WAVERLY SHOWS LITTLE RUST IN SWEEP OF WATKINS GLEN (2019-09-09)

WAVERLY — Despite six days off since its season-opening win, Waverly showed little rust in a sweep of Odessa-Montour here Monday evening in IAC volleyball action.

The Lady Wolverines, now 2-0, won by scores of 25-5, 25-8, and 25-11.

Maddy Goodwin led Waverly with 21 service points, including nine aces, while Chloe Croft had 20 points, including 10 aces, and 14 setter assists, and Paige Lewis had 10 points (five aces, three kills, and one block.

Ayran Peters added six points for the Lady Wolverines, while Adrianah Clinton registered six kills, and Morgan Adams chipped in with four kills.

Rhys Stermer led O-M with two points, nine digs, and one block, while JoLynn Minnier had three digs and two kills, and Sam Sipes had four points and three digs.

Waverly returns to action Wednesday at S-VE.

JV: Waverly swept the junior varsity match by scores of 25-15 and 25-22.

Taylor Hall led Waverly with 13 points, including nine aces, while Paighten Streeter added seven points (five aces), Sydney Nierstedt had six points (three aces), and Aubrey Ennis added two kills.
