ODESSA "” Maggie Whitley was a four-time winner, and Lourden Benjamin, Delaney Vascoe and Willow Sharpsteen were triple-winners to lead Waverly to a season-opening 53-37 win over Odessa-Montour here Tuesday afternoon in IAC girls swimming action.

Benjamin, Vascoe, Sharpsteen, and Whitley teamed to win the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:09.61.

Whitley also teamed with Sharpsteen, Vascoe, and Sophia DeSisti to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 2:00.09.

Whitley won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 28.15 seconds, and Mara Callear was second in 30.95 She also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:08.34

Benjamin won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:23.42, edging out runner-up Sharpsteen, who clocked in at 2:24.38.

Benjamin won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:11.5, and Mackenzie Nichols was third in 1:18.11.

Sharpsteen won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:11.05, and Nichols was second in 1:20.78

Vascoe won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:23.50. She also finished second in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:38.58.

Callear finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:41.94.

Waverly returns to action Thursday when it hosts Notre Dame.
