IAC CROSS COUNTRY: TIOGA'S HURD FINISHES FIRST; NEB EDGES TIOGA, 27-32 (2019-09-21)
TIOGA'S NICHOLS WINS GIRLS RACE
Valley Sports ReportLERAYSVILLE "” Tioga had three finishers in the top five, led by first-place finisher freshman Thomas Hurd, but NEB used superior depth to pull out a 27-32 win here Saturday morning in non-league boys cross country action.
The Tioga and NEB were both incomplete.
BOYSHurd clocked in at 18:54 to win the boys race, while Ty Middendorf was third in 20:02, and Mason Card was fifth in 20:34.
Kyle Earley finished 11th for the Tigers in 23:34, while Kobe Enberg was 12th in 24:00, and Colt Herrala (24:30), Dawson Hpilhower (25:30), Mike Strait (25:38), Josh Reis (26:03) and Zach Nichols (26:26) were 14th through 18th, respectively.
Zander Whitmore was 21st in 26:39, and Max Dydynski was 22nd in 26:42, while Jack Cary was 24th in 34:03, and Reed Cook was 25th in 36:07.
GIRLSMariah Nichols won the girls ace in 26:27, while Kate Burrowes was third in 29:42, and Nicole DeBoer was fifth in 33:06.
MODIFIED RACE
BoysAndrew Earley finished sixth in 12:47 to pace the Tioga boys in the modified race, while Ben Davis was 10th in 13:08, Isaiah Fore was 11th in 13:11, Dezmond DePue was 12th in 15:56, and Ayden Muckey was 14th in 22:06.
GirlsEmily Burrowes finished fourth in 14:08 for the Tioga girls in modified race, while Patience Card was with in 15:13, Brooke Deluge was sixth in 15:55, Sara Burrowes was seventh in 16:18, and Lexy Ward was eighth in 17:12.
