WAVERLY "” Sophomore Lourden Benjamin was a triple-winner, and a trio of her teammates - junior Maggie Whitley, sophomore Willow Sharpsteen, and freshman Sophia DeSisti - were double winners, but Waverly dropped a 93-83 decision to Dryden here Thursday evening in IAC girls swimming action.

Benjamin won the 200-yard IM in 2:34.58, and Sharpsteen was second in 2:36.10. Benjamin also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:12.45.

Sharpsteen won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:08.8.

Whitley won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:02.79, and sophomore Delaney Vascoe was second in 1:05.38. Whitley was second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.61, and Vascoe finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:23.59.

Benjamin, Sharpsteen, Whitley, and DeSisti teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:54.2.

DeSisti and Vascoe teamed with junior Mara Callear, and senior Luci Burnett to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:37.05

Freshman Josie VanDyke won the 1-meter diving competition with 153.0 points

Callear was second in the 200-meter freestyle in a time of 2:24.46, and DeSisti was third in 2:25.69. Callear also finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:34.98.

Waverly, now 2-3, hosts Lansing Tuesday.
