MANSFIELD "” Tioga grad Max Johnson, a sophomore on the Mansfield University sprint football team, matched his season-high in solo tackles to help Mansfield to a 31-6 win over St. Thomas Aquinas College here Saturday night at Karl VanNorman Field.

Johnson, who has started at defensive tackle in each of the Mounties three games, recorded three solo stops, including one tackle-for-loss.

Last week in a loss to Chestnut Hill, Johnson had four tackles, including three solo stops. He also had a QB sack, and another tackle-for-loss.

On the season, Johnson has 10 tackles, including seven solo stops. He also has three tackles-for-loss, and one QB sack.

Mansfield, now 2-1, returns to action Saturday when it hosts Alderson Broads University. Game time is 1 p.m.
