DRYDEN "” Senior Sheridan Talada won the girls meet, and junior Collin Wright was second in the boys meet, but both teams had to settle for second place here Tuesday in IAC cross country action at Tompkins-Cortland Community College.

GIRLS

Waverly had a trio of runners finish in the top six, but didn't have quit enough to run with Lansing Tuesday afternoon.

Lasning won the event with 36 points, while Waverly was second with 47 points, Dryden was third with 55, and Newark Valley was fourth with 72 points.

Talada ran to a first-place finish in a time of 20:09.6, while senior Elizabeth Fritzen was third in 20:40.6, and senior Paige Ackley was sixth in 23:07.5.

Junior Hali Jenner finished 17th for the Lady Wolverines in a time of 29:54.2, while sophomore Aubrey Akins was 21st in 30:14.2, senior Megan Lee was 23rd in 33:07.7, and senior Rachel Ovedovitz was 24th in 34:24.1.

BOYS
Waverly had two runners finish in the top five, but Newark Valley was just a little too much in the boys meet.

Newark Valley won the meet with 41 placement points, while Waverly was second with 46, Dryden was third with 58, and Lansing was fourth with 70.

Junior Collin Wright finished second in a time of 17:46.4 to pace the Wolverines, while sophomore Nate Ackley was fifth at 18:41.8, sophomore Kaden Wheeler was 11th at 19:35.1, and senior Brandon Bubniak was 12th at 19:38.4.

Junior Jayden Rose finished 16th for Waverly in a time of 19:52.9,, while sophomore Liam Traub was 22nd in 21:36.2, sophomore Matt Atanasoff was 25th in 21:44.7, sophomore Gavin Schillmoeller was 30th in 22:49.7, sophomore Sam VanDyke was 32nd in 22:55.1, and Francis Chandler was 44th in 24:38.8.
