LAPORTE — Sullivan County scored three times in the first seven minutes and cruised to a 6-2 win over Sayre here Saturday afternoon in non-league boys soccer action.
Jordan Williams scored 3 1/2 minutes into the game to give the Griffiths a 1-0 lead, then Trace Neary scored just 29 seconds later. Nate HIgley capped the opening scoring spree with 33:12 left in the first half.
Kass McDonald, Riley King, and Neary scored later in he half to make it 6-0 at the intermission.
Junior Cody VanBenthuysen and Brayden Post scored goals in the final two minutes of the game for the Redskins.
Sullivan County outshot Sayre, 14-7, and had 9-7 edge in corner kicks.
Sayre, now 2-9-1, returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Towanda.
