Valley Sports ReportTHE VALLEY "" The marquee match-up Monday features the Waverly girls soccer team hosting Newark Valley with a chance to win another division title, but all four volleyball teams are also in the Valley tonight, with Athens hosting arch-rival Sayre.
GIRLS SOCCER
Sayre (1-11) at Williamson , 4 p.m.: The Lady Redskins are coming off a 10-1 home loss to Sayre Saturday night, while the Lady Warriors edged NP-Mansfield, 2-1.
Newark Valley (7-3) at Waverly (10-1), 5 p.m.: The Lady Wolverines are coming off back-to-back wins over Notre Dame (7-9 Thursday) and Sayre (10-1 Saturday), while the Lady Cardinals topped SVEC in back-to-back games (3-1 Wednesday and 2-0 Friday).
With a win, Waverly clinches the IAC South Large School Division title for the third straight year.
In their first meeting, Waverly topped Newark Valley, 4-1.
Tioga (4-7) at O-M (7-6), 7 p.m.: The Lady Tigers are coming off a 7-1 loss to Marathon Friday, while the Lady Indians topped Watkins Glen, 4-2, Wednesday night.
Earlier this season, O-M blanked Tioga, 4-0.
VOLLEYBALL
S-VE (4-7) at Waverly (8-3), 5 p.m. JV start: The Lady Wolverines are coming off a sweep of O-M Thursday, while Lady Panthers won their second consecutive match with a sweep of Newfield.
Earlier this season, Waverly swept S-VE by scores of 25-16, 25-20, and 25-10.
Candor (12-0) at Tioga (9-3), 5 p.m. JV start: The Lady Tigers are coming off a sweep of Watkins Glen Thursday, while the Lady Indians remained unbeaten with a sweep of Thomas A. Edison.
In their first meeting, Candor swept Tioga by scores of 25-14, 25-22, and 25-21.
Sayre (3-8) at Athens (8-3), 6 p.m. JV start: The Lady Wildcats are coming off a sweep of Williamson Thursday, while the Lady Redskins were swept by NEB.
In their first meeting, Athens swept Sayre by scores of 25-14, 30-28, and 25-18.
