NTL JUNIOR HIGH SOCCER: ATHENS ROLLS TO 8-1 WIN OVER SAYRE (24 PHOTOS) (2019-10-10)

ATHENS - Tyler Roe scored a pair of goals, and six of his teammates each scored one goal in Athens' 8-1 win over Sayre here Wednesday afternoon in NTL junior high soccer action.

Evan Sickler put Athens ahead 1-0, then Ryan LaSusa made it 2-0.

Roe scored his first goal on a penalty kick to make it 3-0, and Jacob Eyer added a goal to extend the lead to 4-0 at the half.

Caprice Haney put Sayre on the board early in the second half to trim the deficit to 4-1, but Roe answered with a goal, and assisted on a goal by Korey Miller to make it 6-1.

Addison Wheeler, off a feed from Miller, and Abbie Panek added goals late in the game to provide the final margin.

Damieon Whitman recorded seven saves in net for Athens, and Hudson Trump had five saves for Sayre.
