ENDWELL "” Freshman Sophia Desisti and sophomore Mackenzie Nichols were double-winners to pace Waverly in a 93-83 loss to Maine-Endwell here Tuesday afternoon in non-league girls swimming action.

The Lady Wolverines, who saw their four-match win streak snapped, fall to 6-4 on the season. They won just four events in the meet.

Desisti won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:20.99, and sophomore Lourden Benjamin was third in 2:27.44.

Nichols won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 2:20.99, and sophomore Willow Sharpsteen was third in 2:27.44.

Desisti and Nichols teamed with sophomore Delaney Vascoe and junior Mara Callear to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 4:35.55.

Benjamin led a sweep in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:11.91, while Nichols was second in 1:16.67, and junior Rachel Shambo was third in 1:35.23.

Junior Maggie Whitley finished second in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 27.24 seconds. She also finished second in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:01.76.

Callear finished second in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 6:40.59, and Sharpsteen finished second in the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:38.35.

Freshman Josie VanDyke finished third with a scored of 140.6 points, and Vascoe finished third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:24.51.

Waverly closes out the regular season Thursday at Watkins Glen.
