Valley Sports Report MARATHON "” Waverly had four runners finish in the top 20, led by runner-up senior Sheridan Talada, to finish third here Friday afternoon at the IAC girls cross country championships.
Notre Dame claimed the IAC title with 41 placement points, while runner-up Lansing had 58 points, and Waverly tallied 83 points. Trumansburg was fourth with 91 points.
Dryden senior Emily Miller won the IAC gold in a time of 20:22.4.
Talada clocked in at 20:35.7, while senior Elizabeth Fritzen finished eighth in 21:29.7, senior Paige Ackley was 17th in 22:57.6, and sophomore Olivia Nittinger was 20th in 23:23.1.
Sophomore Aubrey Akins was 49th in 27:50.1 for the Lady Wolverines.
Sophomore Mariah Nichols was Tioga's lone runner and finished 43rd in a time of 27:01.1.
