IAC BOYS SOCCER: WAVERLY PLACES TWO ON FIRST-TEAM DIVISIONAL ALL-STAR TEAM; TWO ON SECOND TEAM (2 PHOTOS) (2019-11-14)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY "” Waverly had four players voted to IAC South Large School all-star teams in recent voting by the division's coaches, including first-team selections junior Nate Ryck and sophomore Cameron McIsaac.
Senior Rylan Laforest and junior Peyton Bowen were both second-team selections.
FIRST TEAM
Nate Ryck, junior, midfielder: Fast and dependable, Ryck scored two goals and had one assist this season.
"Nate was an indispensable player for us this year," said Waverly coach Eric Ryck. "He played all over the field and filled any role I asked him to.
He has a great ability to adapt and take control of whatever position he's playing and effect the outcome of the game," added Ryck.
Cameron McIsaac, sophomore, goalkeeper: McIsaac had three shutouts on the season, helping the Wolverines to a 2-9-1 record. He had 188 saves on 235 shots against and. averaged 14.5 saves per game.
"Cameron is a true leader on the field, is absolutely fearless, and the other players really respect him," said Ryck. "He matured a lot this year, his instincts are incredible, and without him between the posts our score lines would have been very different."
SECOND TEAM
Rylan Laforest, senior, forward, and Peyton Bowen, junior, midfielder: Bowen had one goal on the season.
"Peyton and Rylan are two of the hardest-working individuals I've ever met," said Ryck. "Every game they outworked everyone else on the field, tirelessly creating opportunities, and covering space to help others when needed.
"They are just flat out workhorses," added Ryck.
