WAVERLY — Orange is off to a 3-0 start in the first week of the Waverly Recreation 5th- & 6th-grade boys basketball house league.
Red 45, Blue 26: Bryce LaForest scored 14 points and Porter Daddona added 12 to lead Red to the season-opening win. Jerry Carnrike scored 10 and Eric Lewis added eight to lead the Blue.
Orange 45, Green 21: Carson Rockwell led a balanced offense for the Orange with 12 points, while Hogan Shaw and Ben Shaw added 10 and nine points, respectively. Carter Davies scored 13 for the Green.
Blue 36, Green 25: Jerry Carnrike scored 10 points, while Derek Johnson and Trevor Blauvelt added eight and seven points, respectively, to lead Blue to their first win of the season. Rylen Larson led Green with nine points, and Carter Davies added eight points.
Orange 42, Red 29: Hogan Shaw pumped in 16 points to lead three scorers in double-figures as Orange improved to 2-0. Carson Rockwell and Ben Shaw added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
Bryce LaForest led Red with 11 points, and Brance Vanalstine chipped in with seven.
Red 27, Green 22: Brance Vanalstine and Aiden Strope scored six points apiece to lead Red to the win over Green in a defensive battle. Collin Wheeler led Green with eight points, and John Calabrese added seven.
Orange 44, Blue 22: Orange improved to 3-0 behind 17 points from Hogan Shaw and eight points from Carson Rockwell. Gavin Hunt led Blue with six points.
