THE VALLEY "” The winter season begins in earnest today North of the Border with five events, including home games for the Tioga girls basketball team, and the Waverly bowlers.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Waverly at Union-Endicott, 5:30 p.m. JV start:
The Wolverines lost 12 of 13 games after 6-8 Scott Woodring was injured in practice after the Valley Christmas Tournament. Woodring, who averaged 32.7 points and 16.9 rebounds in those seven games, is back as Waverly opens against Class A STAC foe Union-Endicott.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
O-M at Tioga, 6 p.m. JV start:
Coming off a 7-13 season, the Lady Tigers graduated just one starter, and return several starters with plenty of varsity experience, led by junior Eve Wood, and seniors Giovanna Rossi and Chloe Bellis.

Last year, O-M won the first meeting at home, 48-25, then closed out the regular season with a 58-43 win at Tioga.

Tioga at Candor, 4 p.m. @ Owego Bowl:
The Lady Tigers graduated their top bowler, but return several with experience, led by Mackenzie Macumber and Bailey Elston.
