OWEGO - The Tioga boys dropped the first game, but rallied for a season-opening win over Candor, while the Lady Tigers were swept here Tuesday in IAC bowling action at the Owego Bowl.

BOYS
Tioga 3, Candor 1

Sophomores Dylan Slater and Rocco Fariello led the Tigers to a 3-1 win over Small School rival Candor.

The Indians won the first game 750-709, but Tioga rebounded with wins of 872-815 and 873-747 for a total-pinfall victory of 2,454 to 2,312.

Slater rolled a 553 series, including a 231 in the third game, and Fariello had a 549, including a 236 in the second game, while junior Kolton Pond had a 471.

Freshman Gage Cain added a 464 for the Tigers, while freshman Frank Chapman added a 409, and senior Ty Middendorf tacked on a 313.

Garrett Lyndhurst led Candor with a 588 series.

GIRLS
Candor 4, Tioga 0

Candor opened the season with a sweep of Tioga.

The Lady Indians won by scores of 600-520, 708-573, and 684-544 for a total-pinfall victory of 1,992 to 1,637.

Junior Millie Grantham led Tioga with a 348, while senior Mackenzie Macumber had a 342, and junior Destini Sweet had a 338.

Senior Bailey Elston had a 314 for the Lady Tigers, while freshman DeAnna Relyea added a 262, and junior Cassie Birney tacked on a 248.

Freshman Caroline Chapman rolled a 317 in reserve for Tioga.

Mya Marsh led Candor with a 472 series.

Tioga hosts O-M Thursday at the Valley Bowling Center.
