IAC BOYS BOWLING: VANDERPOOL, CANFIELD LEAD WAVERLY TO SWEEP OF DRYDEN (2019-12-05)

WAVERLY - Freshman Zach Vanderpool and senior Derrick Vanderpool banged out big 600 series to lead Waverly to a lopsided sweep of Dryden here Thursday afternoon in IAC Large School boys bowling action at the Valley Bowling Center.

The Wolverines, now 8-0, won each game by at least 186 pins, and claimed the total-pinfall point by a score of 3,094 to 2,269. (Dryden is in its first year as a program.)

Vanderpool, who rolled a 715 series Tuesday, rolled a 696 series on games of 226, 255, and 215, and Canfield shot a 654 on games of 214, 211, and 229.

Junior Matt Mauersberg shot a 585 series, including a 238 in the second game, while sophomore Cody Blackwell had a 577, including a 210 in the first game, junior Richard Stevens added a 541, including a 213 in the third game, and sophomore Ashton Pritchard tacked on a 527.

Eddy Pietrasz led Dryden with a 674 series on games of 211, 233, and 230.

Waverly returns to action Saturday in the IAC Kick-Off Tournament at the Valley Bowling Center.
