IAC BOYS SWIMMING: WAVERLY WINS EVERY EVENT, TOPS LANSING 130-50 FOR 33RD STRAIGHT WIN (2019-12-10)

LANSING - Waverly had a quartet of four-time winners and won every event in a 130-50 win over Lansing here Tuesday afternoon in IAC boys swimming action.

Senior Mike Atanasoff, juniors Collin Keefer and Ryan Bennett, and sophomore Kaden Wheeler were quad-winners for the Wolverines, who improved to 3-0 and extended their dual-meet win streak to 33.

Atanasoff won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:08.23, and junior Max Pan was third in 1:19.68. Atanasoff also won the 200-yard IM in a time of 2:11.45.

Keefer won the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 2:10.13, and junior Dillon Madigan was third in 2:13.42.

Keefer led a sweep in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:42.74, with freshman Oscar Williams was second in 5:50.21, and 8th-grader Liam Wright was third in 6:04.89.

Bennett won the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 24.33 seconds, and senior Josh Lee was third in 25.55 seconds. Bennett also won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 55.51 seconds, and Lee was third in 57.42 seconds.

Wheeler won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 1:03.27, and Madigan was second in 1:08.94

Wheeler also won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:01.23, and freshman Jerrell Sackett was third in 1:12.53.

Wheeler, Atanasoff, Bennett, and senior Brandon Clark teamed to win the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:53.8.

Atanasoff, Keefer, Bennett, and senior Josh Lee teamed to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:44.1.

Keefer and Wheeler teamed with Williams and Madigan to win the 400-yard freestyle relay in a time of 3:57.25.

Senior Gage Streeter won the 1-meter diving competition with 231.8 points, and freshman Jerrell Sackett was second in 123.85 points.

Waverly travels to O-M Thursday.
