THE VALLEY "” The Athens boys host Williamson on the hardwoods in their 2019-20 opener, while Waverly hosts Whitney Point in its first home wrestling match of the season.

WRESTLING
Whitney Point at Waverly (4-3), 5 p.m.:
The Wolverines are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Mark Stephens Classic last week, posting a 4-3 record in the duals tournament.

Senior Ethan Stotler (160 pounds), freshman Gage Tedesco (195 pounds), junior Trevor Meyers (170 pounds), and senior Trent Skeens (285 pounds) each have 7-1 records, while junior Austin Kimble (152 pounds) and sophomore Garrett Skeens (126 pounds) are both 6-2.

The Golden Eagles return two wrestlers who qualified for the Section IV, Division 2 championship in junior Alex Barnhart (138 pounds), who was 20-15 last year, and senior Aidan Rosa (120 pounds), who was 17-7.

BOYS BASKETBALL
Williamson at Athens, 6 p.m. JV start:
The Wildcats open the 2019-20 campaign at home tonight, while the Warriors are coming off a 60-37 loss to Canton in the title game at the Galeton Tip-Off Tournament Saturday.

Sayre (2-0) at Towanda (0-2), 6 p.m. JV start: The Redskins are coming off wins over Blue Ridge and Susquehanna at the Blue Ridge Tip-Off Tournament, while the Black Knights lost to Millville and Montrose at its own tip-off tourney.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Sayre (0-2) at Wellsboro (0-2), 6 p.m. JV start:
The Lady Redskins are coming off losses to Blue Ridge and Western Wayne at the Towanda Tip-Off Tournament, while the Lady Green Hornets lost to Muncy and Benton at the Muncy Rotary Tournament.

BOYS BOWLING
Waverly (8-0) at Union Springs / Port Byron (0-4), 3:30 @ Aurora Lanes, Auburn:
Waverly is coming off a first-place finish at the IAC Kick-Off Championships, while US / PB finished sixth.

Waverly is tied with Newark Valley atop the Large School standings, and average 991 pins per game, while US / PB averages 816 pins.

GIRLS BOWLING
Waverly (8-0) at Union Springs / Port Byron (4-0), 3:30 @ Aurora Lanes, Auburn:
US / PB finished first at Saturday's IAC Kick-Off Tournament, topping runner-up Waverly by 198 pins.

Both teams are unbeaten in the early-going, and both teams average 804 pins per game.
