IAC JV BOYS BASKETBALL: WAVERLY ROLLS PAST NOTRE DAME, 78-32 (2019-12-11)
Valley Sports ReportWAVERLY "” Waverly started fast and did' slow down until the fourth quarter in a 78-32 rout of Notre Dame here Tuesday evening in IAC junior varsity boys basketball action.
Davis Croft ripped the nets for 13 points, and Nalen Carling pumped in 10 points in the first quarter as the junior Wolverines raced out to a 31-13 lead after the first eight minutes.
Brady Blauvelt scored seven points, and Jay Pipher added a 3-pointers as Waverly stretched its lead to 45-22 at the half.
Landon McCarty canned a pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter, while Liam Traub and Croft each had five points, including 3-pointers, and Carling added four points.
Croft led Waverly with 18 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Carling had 16 points, nine rebounds, and five steals, and Blauvelt had 13 points, seven steals, and three assists.
Traub scored nine points in the win, while Isaiah Bretz and McCarty each added six points, Pipher chipped in with four rebounds and three steals, and Declan Murphy grabbed six boards.
Eric Bukowinski led Notre Dame with 11 points, and Luca Campanelli added seven points.
Waverly, now 2-1, returns to action Saturday at Watkins Glen.
